Sarasota, FL (January 24,2017) – The Gail Baird Foundation recently donated $20,000 designated to 2017 signature Veteran pantries at All Faiths Food Bank. Last year, Gail Baird Foundation donated over 200 Thanksgiving meals to the families of local Veterans through the Veterans’ pantry at All Faiths Food Bank. President Eric Baird and other members of the Foundation also helped the dedicated volunteers and staff at All Faiths Food Bank pass out the meals.
“My father served in Vietnam and my mother was a military wife so it is an honor to assist local Veterans and their families through the foundation,” said Baird, “It is humbling to see how grateful the Veterans are and I’m forever thankful for their service.”
All Faiths Food Bank Veteran appreciation program is on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, from 10 am to noon. Veterans (with military ID) are welcome to stop by and pick up food including fresh produce, dairy, and frozen meat. There is no cost to the US Department of Veterans Affairs for food or delivery. Gail Baird Foundation has committed to help both financially and physically throughout the year. Together with All Faiths Food Bank they are proud to support the Veterans in need.
“We are very grateful to the Baird family for its generous support of All Faiths Food Bank over the years. We are especially thankful to Gail Baird Foundation for the time, work and funds they donate to support our Veterans’ Food Program,” said Sandra Frank, CEO of All Faiths Food Bank. “One example of their kindness was at our Veterans’ Pantry this past holiday season. There, the Foundation provided turkeys and musical entertainment, and gave all the veterans a holiday present to unwrap.”
